The effects of diazepam, heparin and protamine sulfate on the behavior of rats in the open field test have been studied. Diazepam has been shown to significantly reduce indicators of such behavioral acts as locomotion, vertical position, stupor, sniffing and grooming. Exogenous heparin blocks the diazepam effects, while protamine sulfate potentiates them. The authors suggest that heparin is an antagonist of benzodiazepine receptors. |
