| Features of the Russian realism and its differences from Western European realism are considered. An analysis is presented of realism as a trend in the second half of the 19th century. We substantiate the epic nature and essence of the Russian novel, its orientation onto breadth and omnitude of the ancient epos with national, Christian values preserved at the heart of the genre. |
