This article analyzes some specific features of the presentation of the theme of childhood in modern Russian fantasy. The child protagonist of fantasy discovers a new space for himself and perceives everything he sees for the first time through the optics of his sight as a kind of revelation. In the prose of Shushpanov, Perumov and Stolyarov, different types of child protagonists are described: child-avenger, child-savior, child-searcher. All of them reach adulthood quite fast and lose their innocence and purity.
