Ways of auto-pollination and seed propagation of hothouse orchids are discussed. It is shown that the most effective models of auto-pollination are rostellum reduction, development of additional anthers, and also transformation of perianth segments. 14 auto-pollinated species of orchids are revealed, including four species that regularly germinate symbiotically in hothouse conditions. The full cycle of ontogeny, including embryogenesis and symbiotrophic germination, is studied on the example of Cranichis muscosa .
