| Based on secondary analysis of statistical data and content analysis, we assess the relationship between the state and professional sports, as well as between the successes in the international sports arena and the growth of patriotism in the country that wins the games. On the example of the 2014 Olympics in Sochi, the author explores the impact of sports on the authority of the state and politicians, on social attitudes and civic engagement. |
