A method for local determination of viscoelastic parameters of biological tissue is considered. The method is based on the measurement of the electrical impedance of a vibrating piezo bimorph element impressed into the tissue. A relation between tissue rheological parameters and the bimorph electrical impedance has been established. Preliminary experiments with samples of different elastic properties have been carried out. Based on this method, a portable meter has been developed, which can be used under clinic conditions.
