| We examine the elements of Russian civil society and the means for shaping its political consciousness during the political crisis in the early twentieth century. The role of public organizations, the experience of local self-government, the impact of the press, of Western constitutional ideas and courts on the development of the political consciousness of the Russian population in the early twentieth century are discussed. The article focuses on the issues that have not lost their relevance today. |
