The investigation results are presented on dynamic states and bifurcations in an auto-generating system with phase control and gain control in the frequency control circuit. The location of parameter domains with different dynamic modes is determined, the processes developing as a result of the synchronous mode stability loss are studied, and the peculiarities of asynchronous mode transformations with parameter changes are investigated on the basis of a mathematical model with two and a half degrees of freedom in the cylindrical phase space. Such a system has been shown to be able to establish a synchronous tracking mode as well as asynchronous periodic and chaotic modes of different complexity.
