A typical block diagram of an electric drive system is considered which consists of a control system and an engine. A general transfer function of the system and a characteristic equation in a symbolic form are obtained. An analysis of the system stability is carried out by the location of characteristic equation roots in the complex plane. The system design parameters were varied to some extent to find their limit values at which the system became unstable in the course of the multi-factor computer experiment. Stability domain borders are built in the planes of different parameters. The stability domain borders have first been obtained in the form of three-dimensional space surfaces of the design parameters. The results related to analytic symbolic transformation of a large amount of information were obtained due to the use of the computer algebra package Maple. The sensitive parameters which exert the most influence on the electric drive system stability have been found. |
