The article deals with the images of meals, their emotional and value lighting and psychological content in the artistic world of the novel "Dubrovsky" by A.S. Pushkin. The interest by A.S. Pushkin to the topic of eating (table, meals) due to aesthetic and biographical preconditions. Different types of meals adapted to the characteristics of behavior and value orientations of such personnages as Troekurov, Andrei and Vladimir Dubrovsky, Vereyskiy. Special attention is paid to the frustrated meals as signs of failure of communication, the lack idyllic wedding feast in the final.
