| It is common knowledge that the general cultural context of the trilogy “Christ and Anticrist” by Merezhkovsky is the philosophic writings by F. Nietzsche. This article is the attempt of discovering the new cultural context of the novel “The Resurrection of Gods” that is the English Aestheticism. The author carefully compares this novel with the aesthetic criticism by W. Pater and the English aesthetic novel. |
