| The review considers the strengths and weaknesses of the first collection of documents related to the establishment and development of the Nizhni Novgorod guberniya in the first quarter of the 18th century. The strong points of the collection include, in particular, a wide range of archival sources. One of the shortcomings is lack of information on the provincial judiciary. The review also provides some new data about several Nizhni Novgorod administrators of the Petrine time. |
