The author examines the works of German Renaissance artists М. Schongauer, W. Pleydenwurff, А. D?rer, L. Cranach the Elder, U. Graf, P. Vischer the Younger, B. Beham, E. Schoen, which ridiculed the ministers of the Catholic Church, as well as the founder of the Reformation, Martin Luther. These works are characterized by greater (in comparison with the medieval or baroque material) freedom of artistic expression, which is due to inherent heroic enthusiasm of the Renaissance period (G. Bruno). |
