Abstract
The paper examines the occurrence of the category of the author’s death in the poetry of the contemporary author Vladimir Strochkov on the material of his four books of poems: «Verbs of Imperfect Times. Selected Poems of 1981- 1992», «Adverbs and Circumstances. 1993-2004», «Bucolics plus», «Pushkin plows» and also on the afterword by V. Strochkov to the first book of his poems «Verbs of Imperfect Times. Selected Poems of 1981-1992» and «The Au-thor's Nonbiography» written by himself. The aim of the analysis is to identify the relationship between the two positions: the poetic, unprofessional one (by V. Strochkov) and the philological, philosophical and professional (by R. Bart) in the context of interpretation of the concept «the author’s death».
