The article is devoted to the problem of reproduction of national and cultural codes which can be traced back to a foreign author. The study investigates special aspects of Swedish perception of the phenomenon Mayakovsky in two texts - a radio drama “Vladimir Mayakovsky” by B.J. Wikholm and a novel “Jag brinner” by T. S?fve. The main method of investigation is comparative typological analyses. Vladimir Mayakovsky as a national code, which is closely related to the Russian avant-garde, is realized and accepted in Swedish culture. This article provides analyses of the texts with Mayakovsky as the main character. These texts are peculiar fictive biographies which give a key to a better understanding of another culture.
