The article aims to analyze in which ways East and West are represented in the works of Salman Rushdie and Graham Joyce, to determine how the difference between perception of West by east-minded people and East by west-minded people. The article is based on cognitive approach to evoke the difference in sinistrocerebral and dextrocerebral cognition, uses cognitive comparative analysis. It is concluded that west-minded people which are represented in the works of Graham Joyce account appealing to East as the possibility of self-enrichment. However impossibility of prolific synthesis of two cultures is posited in the works of Salman Rushdie.
