The author investigates an eccentric national caharacter, which is particular to English literature and the way he's been personified in the gameplay side of the postmodern novel by T.Fisher «The Thought Gang». The author draws our attention to the theme of time its interpretation and ways of "being in the world" in connection with the appeal to the philosophy of Martin Heidegger. The research based on typological, comparative-historical, cultural practices, as well as the method of intertextual analysis of the text. Motif path is a structure in the novel, this process of self-hero through the memories of the past return to real life, to the true being and finding faith in the future.
