The purpose of this article is the analysis of the category of the absurd in the work of Neil Gaiman in the context of English cultural tradition. It is noted that the absurdity is understood in existential and linguistic sense, and that English literature is more typical linguistic interpretation of the absurd. Set correspondence between the notions of absurdity and nonsense. Discusses the works of Neil Gaiman in the context of the traditions of English literature of the absurd.
