Abstract
This article analyzes the problems of intercultural communication in Dina Rubina’s novel. Its purpose is to show how the language of art can overcome language differences. It was found that different types of art help to overcome communication barriers and contribute to the penetration into the world of a foreign culture. Particular importance in the analysis is given to the musical and visual component of the image of Spain. The principle of carnivalization is considered, which is implemented primarily in the story's imagery. It is shown that metaphorization and the recourse to the subjects of world literature contribute to successful communication. By using the cultural-historical and typological method, the author comes to the following conclusions: first, the language of art is a universal way to establish international contacts; the recourse to literary and art subjects, musical themes allows one to overcome the language barrier; second, common elements of different cultures are identified by means of common cultural metaphors and literary plots.
