Language change is the main category of diachronic linguistics, because it reflects the mobility of language in time. When considering changes occurring in a language, it is necessary to conduct a diachronic study using at least two synchronic descriptions-slices. If a certain amount of accumulated changes becomes critical, the language transforms during a short historical time and acquires a new quality. |
