The article deals with the issues related to the study of the doctrine and the administrative system of the Church of England and some problems of formation of Anglican identity in the making of Anglicanism. The article notes that the current state of the Church of England in its doctrine, administrative system and gender politics indicates that the process of modernization is underway in these spheres of the Church’s life and all the debatable issues are discussed freely. The author also examines the history of the notion «Anglicanism».
