Abstract
This article summarizes the work of the research group on the subject «Chronology and evolution of rural settlements of Bosporus in the Hellenistic period and Roman times». The study included several known settlements of this period located in the Eastern Crimea, the Taman peninsula and the Fontalovsky peninsula. An analysis was conducted of changes in life activities in these settlements taking into account the latest dating of archaeological materials and field data over recent years, including field research performed by the author. An attempt was made to identify common features and synchronicity of processes on the rural territory of Bosporus in the context of historical events in settlements of different types, dating and geographical location. The study also draws upon some previously unpublished research data about the Eastern Crimea.
