| Metaphor-like expressions in the novel by Ken Kesey are analysed from the point of view of the cognitive discourse paradigm. Four basic metaphors conceptualizing the inner world of the characters were identified in the novel. While they are perceived as metaphors by the reader, these expressions in the mind of the narrator vary the degree of their metaphoricity from wholly metaphorical ones to literal ones. |
