| The present article reports on compiling a dictionary aiming to identify and describe culturally loaded English given names which function as units of a linguistic worldview, national self-consciousness, and English speakers' character. Such names are involved in the processes of metaphorization and metonymization, used in proverbs and sayings, serve as a basis for the formation of various types of onomastic lexical units and acquire the status of names-symbols. |
