| This study examines the possible influence of eschatological ideas on the construction of a unique architectural complex in the North-Eastern Russia. The author turns to specific features of medieval Russian religiosity and outlines the ideas and images that could influence the formation of the appropriate «horizon of expectations» among Andrei Bogolyubsky's contemporaries and determine his own initiatives in construction. |
