The article examines the use of some elements of drama in contemporary Russian poetry from the point of view of discursive interaction. This study is based on the material of the texts by G. Aygi, E. Shvartz, I. Zhukov, N. Azarova, D. Davydov and some other authors. Along with the traditional elements of dramatic metatext (stage directions, names of characters, etc.), we examine text structures typical of drama that were adopted in poetry. The functions of these structures in poetic text and their role in text coherence and cohesion are analyzed. Drama is regarded as a special format of poetic text which allows one to give up a single image of the speaker and to create a multidimensional image, thus changing the communication between the author and the reader of a poetic text and making it more sophisticated.
