| The author summarizes the literature from the second half of the 19th century up to the present time on the history of production and consumption of alcoholic drinks in Russia, and analyzes a number of facts and scientific materials describing the process of development of the spirits industry from 1827 to 1914. The article gives a general characteristic of research in this field done by Russian and foreign scholars, and considers historiographic stages of the period under study. |
