The author considers two chronologically close manuscripts of the Slavic Prologue of the 16th century (from the library of the Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius and the UNN fundamental library) in terms of the structure and the most prominent linguistic characteristics of these manuscripts. Some materials dating to the 17th century are also used in the study. Based on the analysis of specific linguistic features and the content of the copies, the author draws the conclusion about the possibility of restoring the original structure of the manuscript of the 16th-century Prologue from the UNN collection. This is the first printed publication to cover the above-mentioned sources.
