The article examines the content of the burden of maintaining property in the Russian Federation. The article presents the concept of the burden of maintaining property and relevant jurisprudence. The burden of maintaining property is seen as a duty of the owner to maintain the property in good condition, safe and suitable for use in accordance with the purpose of the property. The existence of the owner’s burden, taking into account that this is an obligation to which an indeterminate number of eligible persons is opposed, determines the essence of the right of ownership as an absolute right.
