Abstract
We show that Bella Akhmadulina’s poetry is dialogically aligned with Pushkin’s tradition. The subject of this research is the poem «My Family Tree» by Bella Akhmadulina, where some «zones» of creative intersections have been revealed with A.S. Pushkin’s poem of the same title. We also analyze the type of literary reception. It is argued that in addition to the thematic, structural and quotational reference to Pushkin’s original text, Akhmadulina tries on the role of her predecessor and relives the situation in which he found himself. In this particular poem, such a situation refers to one’s family history. Akhmadulina, just like her great predecessor, immerses herself into the mists of time and finds her ancestors there; she also considers possible options for their life paths and how they could have affected the fact of her birth.
