We examine the Vyatka quit-rent (obrok) book that contains unique information for 7101-7124 (1592/93- 1615/16). The data of this book have not been previously used by researchers in their papers on quit-rent tenure in Russia. The statistical research method applied for the second part of the book provides the basis for our conclusions regarding the features of the distribution of land for rent in the Vyatka territory during the Time of Troubles. In particular, our assumption about the impact of socio-political events on land distribution for rents is confirmed. The reduced number of quit-rent records in the book for some years correlates with periods of social unrest in the region. The factual data of the quit-rent book provide diverse and often unique information for studying the history of the Vyatka land in the Time of Troubles.
