The article deals with some unknown pages in the history of the Zavolochye fortress during one of the most dramatic periods in the Russian history of the early 17th century. Particular attention is paid to the fate of the service people of this town and the Pustorzhevsky uyezd, many of whom initially fought on the side of the Polish King Sigismund III and then pledged their allegiance to Mikhail Romanov. |
