Abstract
We discuss the changes in the process of students’ training and approaches to the teaching and assessment of learning outcomes that take place in the course of transition to the competence approach. Transparency of assessment criteria, clear expectations and teaching in active forms result in the increased level of students’ motivation and their responsibility for learning outcomes.
