Our study of the first year students has shown that they are not able to use their intellectual capabilities, i.e., they do not know how to learn. To solve this problem, a special lecture course was organized at our faculty, It was aimed, among other things, at finding an individual style of learning by each concrete student (by using his/her psycho - physiological peculiarities). It has been shown that the students' academic performance, judging from the results of the first session, was significantly better and dropout rate for academic failure was lower.
