We consider some possibilities for actualization of aesthetic motivation of pupils’ search and learning activity. A model of aesthetically significant mathematical constructs provides the basis for realizing such possibilities. To achieve the pupils' understanding of such constructs, a set of aesthetic criteria is included in the mechanism for selecting the direction of search; some particularly expressive and "tangible" elements of school mathematics content are considered; unusual situations are created where the known techniques and their combinations are used to solve mathematical problems and to identify a system of relations that reveals the possibility of implementing "unexpected" analogies and generalizations.
