The article analyzes the conception of the artist's character, received a play by English playwright Tom Stoppard paradoxical interpretation which gets paradoxical interpretation in plays by English playwrite Tom Stoppard.. It is suggested that a special retrospective composition, which is based on the principle of paradox allows the playwrite to express complex philosophical concept in a fascinating detective story. The principle of paradox can be traced in large structural elements, such as composition and poetry images of individual characters.
